Global Director Brighton Kaoma to speak at the World Humanitarian Forum 2021

Humanitarianism is more than just humanitarian aid. Join our Global Director Brighton to discuss how state, non-state and private actors can solve the challenges we seek to address in humanitarian aid and development.

We are delighted to announce that Brighton Kaoma, Global Director of SDSN Youth, has been invited to speak at the World Humanitarian Forum New York 2021 on September 21.

The World Humanitarian Forum (WHF) is a global call for action and brings together prominent leaders from the public and private sectors, as well as international thought leaders and pioneers from global aid and international development communities to engage in inspirational, thought-provoking, and future-focused dialogues which aim to shape the future of humanitarian aid and international development to help to improve the lives of millions in need.

The overarching theme of this year’s convening is “Building Forward Better Through Hope” with a special emphasis on the pressing issues of the world being discussed at the 76th UN General Assembly (UNGA76) including recovery from Covid-19, building resilience, and climate change.

Through his engagement with the forum, Brighton will have an invaluable opportunity to contribute his expertise on relevant issues towards an important discussion on how to achieve social impact objectives.

Other speakers include:

Barry Kolodkin, Deputy Chief Evaluator at the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development

Dean Hand, Research Director for the Global Impact Investing Network (GIIN)

Diana Damskey, Lead member of the IFC team developed standards for the global impact investing market, the Operating Principles for Impact Management
